Accounts Assistant (Accounting Technician)

So, what will the role of Accounts Assistant entail?
As an Accounts Assistant you’ll be part of the small accounts team, and take a proactive approach to achieve efficient and accurate processing of accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, providing outstanding levels of service. Your duties will include although not be limited to:

Completing bank reconciliations

Creating journal entries

Processing and submitting VAT and tax returns

Assisting with the preparation of accounts

Entering transactions onto software for clients with manual bookkeeping records

Maintaining data on Excel spreadsheets and cloud based accountancy software

Processing client payrolls
-
Taking a proactive approach with contacting clients to gather outstanding information required to meet accounting deadlines

Maintaining good working relationships both internally and externally

Supporting colleagues with tasks as part of a flexible accounts team
What will I need to be considered for this Accounts Assistant vacancy?

AAT qualified along with proven accounts experience

Proactive and professional approach to work

Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously

Superb numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail

IT literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Superb communication skills both written and verbal
Experience within a private accountancy practice environment would be advantageous, although not essential, as would the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh.

Salary: Dependent on current experience and qualifications
Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business and client needs
